Internet speed & health check

A real test from this device over its current connection: download, upload, latency, jitter, lag under load and VoIP call quality. It shows what is available right now, not your plan's maximum. Results attach to your service request automatically.

Browsers cannot send raw pings, so latency is measured over HTTPS and DNS through encrypted DNS-over-HTTPS. Location comes from your IP address and is approximate.

Find the best internet for your address

We do not work for any provider. Answer a few quick questions and we will show which connection types fit how you use the internet - then we check every provider at your address and set up the best hardware right up to your router. Advice is free.

This is general guidance. Real availability and speed are confirmed address by address - maps and sales lines are often wrong, so we test on site when it matters.

    Privacy

    How we handle your information

Wire Wave Solutions is a small local business. We only collect what we need to answer your request and do the work, and we never sell, rent or trade your information. We follow Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA).

    What we collect

When you send a request: your name, phone number and/or email, your town, and - only if you add them - your street address and business name. We also keep what you tell us about the problem, the services and estimate you picked and, if you ran it, your speed-test result (speeds, public IP address, internet provider and approximate location).

    Why we collect it

To contact you about your request, give you a price, book and do the work, invoice you, and keep a service history so we can help you faster next time. We will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.

Where it is kept and who sees it

Your request goes into our own secured customer system. Only Wire Wave Solutions and any trusted technician working on your job can see it. We do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it, or you ask us to (for example, when we contact your internet provider for you).

    Tools on this website

    • The speed test connects to Cloudflare's public speed-test servers, and the connection check contacts Google (8.8.8.8, google.ca), Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and Yahoo (yahoo.ca). Like any website you visit, they see your IP address. They only run when you press the button.
    • If you press "Look up" or "Use my location", the address, postal code or location is sent to OpenStreetMap's free address service to find your town and fill in the form. Nothing is sent unless you press one of those buttons.
    • If you tick "Remember my contact details", they are saved only in this browser on this device. Untick the box or clear your browser data to remove them.
    • We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

    How long we keep it

As long as we need it to serve you and to meet tax and record-keeping rules. After that it is deleted.

    Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time. Just call or message us and we will take care of it.

    Service terms

    Our service agreement

These terms apply to every job Wire Wave Solutions does for you. You agree to them when you tick the box on the request form, or when you approve the work on site. They are written in plain language so you know what to expect before we start.

    1. Back up your data first

Before we work on a computer, laptop, phone, tablet, server or storage device, please back up anything you cannot lose. If you cannot, ask us - backup is a service we offer. Computers often come to us because a part is already failing. An old, worn or failing hard drive, SSD, memory card, battery or board can stop working during testing or repair even when it is handled with care.

We are not responsible for data loss, or for a device or part that fails, when the cause is its age, wear, an existing fault, earlier damage, malware, or data that was not backed up.

    2. Older and already-failing equipment

We tell you what we find and what we recommend. Some equipment cannot be repaired, or is not worth repairing, and replacement parts may not be available. A diagnostic fee covers the time spent finding the problem, even if you decide not to go ahead with the repair. We always ask before doing work that costs more than the price we gave you.

    3. Drilling, cabling and mounting

You, or the person who lets us in, choose or approve where we drill, cut, run cable, mount equipment or dig. Please tell us about anything hidden in that area: electrical wiring, water or gas pipes, in-floor heating, alarm or phone lines, septic or irrigation lines, or structural parts. We check what we can see and work carefully, but we cannot see inside walls, floors, ceilings or the ground.

We are not responsible for damage to hidden items in a spot you chose, approved or pointed out when we were not told about them, or for the patching and painting of holes that the job needs unless it is included in your quote. If you rent, you confirm that the owner allows the work. Buried cable needs free utility locates (Ontario One Call) before anyone digs.

    4. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays, damage or losses caused by events we cannot control, such as storms, lightning, power surges and outages, floods, fire, extreme weather, internet provider outages, supplier delays, or government orders. Surge protection and battery backup (UPS) are strongly recommended for network and computer equipment.

    5. Internet providers, software and other companies

Your internet provider, software makers, cloud services and equipment makers control their own services, prices, licences and outages. We help you work with them, but we are not responsible for their service, their changes or their decisions.

    6. Access and passwords

You confirm that you own the equipment and accounts we work on, or have permission to let us work on them. Share passwords with the technician in person or by phone, never in the online form, and change them after the job if you wish.

    7. Prices, deposit and payment

Website prices are estimates. We confirm the price before work starts. Once we accept a job, a deposit of one-third of the total is needed to book it, and the rest is due when the work is done. You get a written invoice for every job.

    8. Our guarantee and its limits

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 30 days. If something we did is not right, tell us and we will fix it at no charge. Where the law allows, our total responsibility for a job is limited to fixing our work or refunding what you paid for that job, and we are not responsible for indirect losses such as lost business, lost income or lost data.

    9. Your rights

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Ontario law, including the Consumer Protection Act. If any part of these terms cannot apply, the rest still does.

Questions about these terms? Call 519-397-0591.

    About Wire Wave Solutions

Hi, I'm Todd - 25+ years of keeping people connected

I have worked on every side of technology: fixing computers at the bench, answering the phones at an internet provider, climbing the towers that carry the signal, and running the IT for a growing internet company. That means when something stops working, I can see the whole picture - from the tower down the road to the laptop on your kitchen table.

You do not need to know the tech words. Tell me what is going wrong in plain language, and I will explain what I find, what it costs and what your options are - before any work starts.

25+years in IT, internet and phone systems
6,000+internet customers served on a network I helped grow on site and with my crew
1,500 fttallest towers climbed for maintenance and repairs
Coast to coastbusiness phone systems I designed are used across Canada

What my experience means for you

    Internet that actually works

I have worked inside internet providers - in technical support and as IT Director. I know how their networks run, what to test and exactly what to tell them, so problems get fixed instead of passed around.

    Phones that sound clear

I have designed and supported internet phone (VoIP) systems for homes and businesses across Canada. Clear calls, keeping your number, voicemail to email and a backup when the internet drops.

    Towers, antennas and long-range wireless

I have installed high-capacity wireless links for towns and large commercial sites, climbed towers from 300 to 1,500 feet and built solar-powered remote sites. Linking your barn or cleaning up an old TV tower is work I do safely and properly.

    Computers fixed right

I have repaired PCs, laptops and servers since 2003 - as a bench technician, a service manager and an HP-qualified technician. Slow computers, viruses, dead drives and lost files are everyday work.

    Servers, security and custom software

Windows and Linux servers, virtual machines, monitoring that warns before things break, and secure storage for passwords and keys. I also write software, so I can build the tool, script or website your business needs.

    Business-grade reliability

As IT Director I kept a fast-growing company online while it grew more than ten times over. Your small business gets the same planning: backups, failover and a clear plan for when something goes wrong.

One call for any tech problem

Computers, internet, Wi-Fi, phones, cameras, servers, websites or towers - you call one person. If a job ever needs a specialist skill, I bring in trusted partners and manage it for you, so you still have one contact and one plan.

    Last step
